6 Spots to Watch the Oscars in Seattle
From elegant to casual, we got the best places to view the 90th Academy Awards
The 90th Academy Awards is this Sunday, and film buffs all over the world will be tuned into see who brings home some hardware. Sure, you could watch your favorite celebrities hit the red carpet in your sweats, on the comfort of your own couch. But if you decide to venture out, in true Hollywood glitz and glamour style, we got a few spots in mind for you.
Outlier
Outlier, formerly Sazerac, has found success with its approach to global foods since opening in March 2017. The restaurant’s Oscars party will have its own version of the Hollywood red carpet experience, so dress to impress. There will be Oscars-themed cocktails along with a live DJ, a photographer and multiple viewing screens so you won’t miss any of the Academy Awards action. Rhein Haus
The Bavarian-style beer hall with bocce courts is back with its third Oscars party. There will be a press wall and paparazzi to take snap shots of you entering the event, so make sure you are dressed red-carpet ready (there’s one of those, too). The first 50 guests will receive free swag bags. There will be food, Hollywood-inspired drinks and prizes. And you can bring the kids along, as there will be an under-21 area where the whole family can watch. 4 p.m. -11 p.m. Free. Century Ballroom
You may know Century Ballroom as the place for salsa and swing dancing, but this Sunday, hosts Waxie Moon and Sarah Rudinoff will whisk you away for a night of Oscars celebration with red carpet photos, contests for best gown, suit and best dressed Hollywood couple, and lots of bubbly. 3 p.m. $15-$20. Central Cinema

Triple Door
TheFilmSchool’s Annual Oscar Gala is promising a night of “excitement and elegance.” The night will start off with a cocktail reception and silent auction helping benefit TheFilmSchool’s programs, followed by the viewing of the Oscars with a dinner and wine pairing brought to you by James Beard semifinalist, Wild Ginger.
