Graphic designer Samantha Wagner, who shares her local stationery company, Apartment on Belmont, with West Seattle artist Michael Doyle, believes in the power of a handwritten valentine.
“It is an incredibly romantic gesture to write a love note. These notes tend to be tucked away in favorite books, stowed in memory boxes or stashed in picture frame corners. When you imbue a card with love, you’re creating a physical symbol of it.”
On February 14, inscribe one of the pair’s artful cards—available at local gift shops such as Velouria (Pioneer Square, 145 King St.; 206.788.0330), Join Shop (South Lake Union, 400 Fairview Ave. N) or at apartmentonbelmont.com—with a special message for your sweetheart.
