This rock candy duck will satisfy both adventurous diners and predictable eaters

The menu at Greenwood Chinese restaurant Chef King has a little bit of something for everyone, from Sichuan dishes heavy on offal, pickled vegetables and spice to Americanized standbys like General Tso’s chicken. Both adventurous diners and predictable eaters can find joy in the rock candy duck ($19.95): tender, flavorful meat underneath a crackle of sweet lacquered skin, best swiped through the accompanying dish of salty, spicy sauce. This simple neighborhood spot, open since last July, does a booming takeout business, but the duck is best eaten in-house, when the skin is its crispiest .
