For Puyallup native Adam Davidson, the architecture of his accessories line, AANDD, started as a hobby. Originally an architecture major in college, Davidson says, “I had a friend interning at a firm who would give me discarded materials from their library. Woodprint wallpaper became a log-shaped bag.”

From repurposed swatches to full-grain leather, Davidson’s calfskin bags emerged with rich hues, industrial hardware and contemporary designs. Securing a role with luxury accessories brand Coach in 2012, Davidson honed his skills for three years before leaving to continue production for AANDD full time. The line’s first small leather goods collection of lanyards, wallets and folios (ranging from $84 to $272) debuts this fall.

Davidson credits his dual design experiences as the blueprint for AANDD. “There’s the architect brain, analytical and detail-oriented, and the fashion brain, interested in colors and trends. They situate themselves perfectly.”
