The University of Washington School of Art’s gallery honors its namesake 25 years to the day after it was christened for the Seattle artist (1917–2000) and UW faculty member whose bold, colorful work draws on the mythology and history of the African-American experience.
The party promises a headlining performance by local soul rapper SassyBlack and the unveiling of volume 3 of Monday, the gallery’s new journal of contemporary arts criticism.
