How often do you go to Starbucks, or one of the many other coffeehouses throughout the city? Any idea how much you spend on coffee each year? What’s your bean budget?
Turns out that Seattle is the third-best coffee city in the United States. Personal finance website WalletHub compared the 100 largest cities across 12 key indicators of coffee lover-friendliness, including the number of coffee shops, coffeehouses and cafés per capita, the average price per package of coffee, and the share of residents with coffee makers at home.
Only Portland and San Francisco rated higher. As the study notes: “Seattle has the second-highest percentage of residents with an espresso or cappuccino machine, and the fifth-highest percentage with an electric coffee grinder.”
Oh, and the average Seattle resident spends $240 per year on coffee. That’s a lot of caffeine cash.
