Popular French neighborhood bakery Paris Baguette has only two locations in Washington state, in Lynnwood’s Alderwood Mall and in Tukwila. Expect many more.

In December, the bakery announced the opening of its 200th location in North America as part of an ambitious plan to open 1,000 cafes across the United States.

“This milestone sets the stage for even further growth in the coming years,” CEO Darren Tipton said at the time. “This continued growth reflects our dedication to offering an authentic bakery café experience.”

If you’ve never been, make a point of going. The fusion of French-inspired pastries and Asian flavors features cakes, savory items such as sausage rolls and quiches, and desserts, including eclairs, macarons and pudding cups. The chic, casual vibe truly suggests a neighborhood bakery.

Seattle is full of great, local bakeries known for their exceptional pastries, breads, and confections. A few of our favorites include Bakery Nouveau (West Seattle, Capitol Hill and Burien); Le Panier in Pike Place Market (try the baguette sandwich); and Rosellini’s in Ballard, famous for its kouign amann.

Paris Baguette hasn’t announced any new Seattle-area locations, but has been a nice addition to Seattle’s thriving bakery scene. Watch for more soon.
