The Christmas Dive Bar is Back
The seasonal pop-up returns to Capitol Hill for the second year
By Rob Smith November 8, 2024
Get ready for a holiday explosion.
The Christmas Dive Bar, a seasonal pop-up, opens tonight for the second consecutive year.
Located at The Woods in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, the bar returns with a twist: The Sleigh N’ Sip Lodge on the third floor, a fully decorated Christmas lodge with festive nostalgia including disco balls and wood rafters.
The Dive Bar is the brainchild of Joey Burgess and Murf Hall, who also own Elliott Bay Book Co., Oddfellows/Little Oddfellows, Queer/Bar, and Cuff Complex.
“From a bow-covered photo wall to Christmas classics on screen to a canopy of ornaments all presiding over a full menu of seasonal cocktails and snacks,” Hall says. “We have everything you’d expect from a place called Christmas Dive Bar.”
Holiday-themed cocktails include a gingerbread old-fashioned, a Grinch Martini, a tequila-fueled “Christmas Cactus,” and a brand-based naught hot cider. The venue is also available for private party rentals.
“Don your gay apparel and join us for some raucous reindeer games,” Burgess quips.
