Coffee heads take note: Seattle Coffee Works is serving up FREE samples of Colombia Cup of Excellence–a coffee that typically goes for $100 a pound–this Friday at 1 p.m. Why pour the good stuff for free? It might have something to do with the fact that Andrew Zimmern, the wild and hungry TV personality–with a knack for making far-flung and non-mainstream dishes seem “bizarre”–will be in-house filming a segment for his Discovery Channel show “Bizarre Foods”. “There wasn’t a trace of bitterness in it,” says shop owner Sebastian Simsch who believes SCW is the first to offer the roast. If you’re planning on being downtown this Friday afternoon, swing by First Avenue and Pike Street to sample a literal cup of excellence.
