Letterpress Distillery Releases Arancello, Negroni Week Starts Soon

Spring keeps blooming and so do our tasty drinking options, both at top local bars and thanks to our local distillers, for your home. Stop and read and sip up the latest happenings in your local drinking scene, which you’ll find below!
Letterpress Releases Arancello Rosso: A cousin of its celebrated Limoncello, this new bottling from the SoDo distiller is a blood orange twist on its lemon-based relative, with a lot of citrus in the nose and bright orange flavor. In the same way as its Limoncello, the Arancello Rosso is sweetened with honey, just a little lighter, and the proof is a little higher. Unveiled to the public last Sunday, this limited-edition release is going to be available at a few bars (including Capitol Hill’s Liberty) and select stores, but the best place to scoop up a bottle is at the distillery itself.
Drink Negronis, Support Charities: There are few things better than drinking for a cause, especially when it’s a good drink! And next week is the ideal time to do that very thing, as Negroni Week runs from June 1 to June 7. If you don’t know, Negroni Week features more than 1,700 bars and restaurants that are donating a portion of the proceeds from every single Negroni they sell to a charity of their choice. Also, the fine folks at Campari will donate $10,000 to the chosen charity of the bar that donates the most during Negroni Week. More than 50 bars in Seattle are taking part (more are being added all the time), including swell spots like Canon, Essex and Rob Roy. Check out the whole list.
(RED) Cocktail at Ray’s Café: Speaking of drinking for a good cause, Ray’s is serving up a swell drink through the month of June as part of the campaign: EAT (RED). DRINK (RED). Save Lives. (RED) is one of the leading charities in the global fight against AIDS, and Ray’s is making it tasty to support it throughout June with its (RED) Cocktail, which combines bourbon, tasty Italian digestif Cardamaro, cherry brandy, orange juice and grenadine. All proceeds from the sale of the cocktail through the month will go to supporting (RED).
Get Your Summer Drink Passport Now: The inaugural Seattle Passport kicked off last week. From now through September 7, pick up a Seattle Passport (a physical book) to take advantage of drink specials at more than 40 different venues: bars, restaurants, breweries, etc. After you pick up your special drink, the bartender will give you a stamp, much like you were entering another country. The participating spots include sweet watering holes like Saint John’s Bar & Eatery, E. Smith Mercantile, top imbibable makers like Westland Distillery and Lantern Brewing, and many more.
