Each 6-ounce tasty treat comes with two types of Belgian chocolate

It took three years and near-sinister gobs of chocolate, but Metropolitan Market has perfected and rolled out its claim to confection fame: The Cookie. What other name could fit such an exemplary treat?

A purist’s delight, each 6-ounce Cookie contains two types of Belgian chocolate, local flour, toasted walnuts and butter. The full-figured orbs are hand-rolled and sprinkled with fleur de sel for the most satisfying sweet-and-salty ride. Even one hour out of the oven, The Cookie was all kinds of gooey in my hands, its bulbous, slightly underdone dome stuffed to the seams with melty chocolate.

Every store location that carries The Cookie—at press time, that included Uptown, Admiral, Sand Point, Tacoma and Kirkland—sells upward of 1,000 per day. Yep, The Cookie is The Bomb. $2.99 each. Select Metropolitan Market locations; metropolitan-market.com
