SAMSON & DELILAH IN CONCERT

Old Testament politics and a timeless power struggle are at the heart of Samson & Delilah in Concert, an ancient tale of obsession, lust and revenge. One of the most popular operas in French repertoire, with music by Camille Saint-Saëns and libretto by Ferdinand Lemaire, this show hasn’t been performed in Seattle since 1965 and will feature a full orchestra and chorus. The performance will be in French, with English subtitles.

UW DANCE PRESENTS

Enjoy an evening of live contemporary dance with UW Dance Presents, by the University of Washington department of dance. This year’s performance will premiere new works, as well as feature excerpts from critically acclaimed repertory—performed by undergraduate students. In addition, there will be a dance film installation created by department faculty and guest artists.

FROM SHALLOWS TO SEAFLOOR – NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC LIVE

Hear behind-the-scenes stories from photographers, scientists, filmmakers and adventurers from National Geographic. Part of a six-program series, this month’s offering, From Shallows to Seafloor – National Geographic Live features marine biologist Diva Amon, whose research on unusual deep-sea habitats and species has taken her to extraordinary depths in some of the most remote parts of Earth. She’ll share stories from her work in the Caribbean, Pacific and beyond.
