Veronica Beard has become the latest national retailer to open in Seattle.

The New York-based retailer has becomes popular with women because of its classic tailoring spanning workwear, casualwear, and evening attire. The brand is available at Nordstrom and other select retailers, but this is its first brick-and-mortar store in the Pacific Northwest. The new boutique is in University Village. The next-closest store is in Santa Rosa, just north of San Francisco.

The brand, best known for its iconic Dickey jacket, operates 39 stores across the globe, mostly in the United States. It has also received support from celebrities and influencers, including Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Several high-end retailers have targeted Seattle recently, including Black Diamond Equipment, a Salt Lake-city based outdoor gear retailer that recently opened in the Fremont neighborhood; Suit Supply, which just opened its second Seattle store at the base of Rainier Tower (it also operates a store in Bellevue); and Taylor Stitch, which recently announced plans to open in downtown Seattle this spring.
