Downtown Seattle is about to bloom again.

Pacific Place is hosting Fleurs de Villes NOËL for the fourth year, turning its five-story shopping center into a floral wonderland from Dec. 6–15. This year’s theme, “Songs of the Season,” imagines classic holiday songs as 15 floral installations created by some of Seattle’s best florists.

Expect everything from flower-adorned mannequins to floral reindeer. “We’re thrilled to bring back Fleurs de Villes NOËL, one of the nation’s most enchanting fresh floral showcases,” says Ellyn Mains, Pacific Place’s general manager. “This year’s theme invites our guests to immerse themselves in a music-forward floral experience.”

Founded in 2015 in Vancouver, B.C., Fleurs de Villes is a luxury brand that partners with local florists. It has created one-of-a-kind floral displays at more than 110 shows in 29 cities across five countries.

The event is free and self-guided, so you can wander at your own pace. Visitors can also vote for their favorite display at the Pacific Place Concierge Desk for a chance to win a shopping experience and tickets to Mary Poppins at the 5th Avenue Theatre.

Just a short walk away from Pacific Place, Westlake Park adds to the downtown holiday festivities with its annual Tree Lighting Celebration, featuring a 45-foot holiday tree, twinkling lights, and holiday concerts on Nov. 29 from noon–5:30 p.m. Santa Saturdays begin Nov. 30 and run through Dec. 23 from noon–4 p.m.

Amazon Now Sells Cars. What’s Next?

The Seattle retail giant is seemingly on a quest to sell virtually everything

You can now buy a car on Amazon. But it must be a Hyundai (at least for now), and it’s only available in major metros in 48 states, Seattle included. Amazon Autos also allows buyers to trade in their existing cars and secure financing. It sounds odd, but consumers have bought cars online for years…
