Seattle Pride Revamps Giving Plan
New fund replaces grants and sponsorship program
By Rob Smith January 31, 2025

The nonprofit organization responsible for the Seattle Pride Parade and Seattle Pride in the Park has launched a new community giving program.
Seattle Pride is replacing its 7-year-old grants and sponsorship program with the Seattle Pride Impact Fund, dedicated to empowering LGBTQIA2S+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and trans, queer and questioning, intersex, asexual or agender, and two-spirit) grassroots initiatives. The organization says the new fund “simplifies the process” with a single annual application cycle and clear funding categories aimed at BIPOC leadership, trans empowerment, youth initiatives, and arts and culture.
“For those who are feeling the weight of our recent political assaults it’s critical that we create opportunities for us to come together in community to connect, heal, celebrate, and advocate,” Seattle Pride Executive Director Patti Hearn says, noting that the group is prioritizing grassroots initiatives and collaborative programs this year. “As with all of our work, the goal is that we can live authentically, thrive, and love who we want without erasure or persecution.”
The fund offers two grant categories: Spark grants of up to $3,500 and in-kind support for smaller projects, and collective futures grants of up to $15,000. The application period opens July 15 and closes Sept. 15. Funds will be distributed next January.
Seattle Pride has distributed more than $500,000 since 2018.
