City’s sports uniforms are in high demand

Seattle’s sports franchises are more popular than you might think.

The NHL’s Kraken, for instance, has the most popular jersey in the league, according to an analysis by T-shirt wholesaler ShirtMax, which analyzed Google Keyword Planner for jersey searches. Not bad for an expansion team that missed the playoffs last year, had a losing record, and fired its coach. Maybe it’s the cool name, or the soothing blues and reds in its color codes.

The Kraken begins its fourth season in October.

The Seahawks — undefeated two weeks into their season — have the fifth-most popular jersey in the NFL, behind only the 49ers, Cowboys, Eagles, and Chiefs. That 12th Man thing apparently has some legs. The Seattle Sounders also have the fifth-most popular jersey in Major League Soccer.

Now that’s some sideline style.
