Nothing says hot and exotic, like the ages-old Kasbah. If North Africa isn’t exactly in your immediate travel plans, you can just import the sultry style of those lands into your design scheme. We’re particularly keen about tapping the romantic look for outdoor envions. In addition to adopting a colorful outdoor rug or two, the dreamy Arabian style can be found in lots of outdoor lantern looks. Cost Plus World Market (various locations, including Pike Place Market, 2103 western Ave.; 206.443.1055) has the mulitcolored, multi-sized Sabita embossed glass hanging lanternnbsp ($11.99-$49.99), shown above.

At  Pier 1 Imports (various locations, including Bellevue, 905 Bellevue Way; 425.451.8002) there’s a veritable medina’s worth of options, from the Caravan Gem hanging floor lantern ($115) and Amber Mosaic lantern ($47.98, clearance price) to the Mosaic hanging lantern ($89.95) and Moroccan lantern ($25-$38).nbsp;(FYI, its inspiring continent is old Europe, but we think their Bohemian Mercury Hanging Lanterns, $9.95-$14.95, also fit the bill.)

And Pottery Barn (various locations, including University Village; 4627 26th Ave. NE; 206.522.6860) has the new but nicely old-looking Marrekech ($143, special price now) and Cabrillo Moroccan ($79 special price now) lanterns.
