Oh boy. When Kate Calamusa, editor of our sister publication, Seattle Bride, asked our Facebook fans if they would join us if we got up early to watch the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William a few weeks ago, we were partly kidding. But the number of people who said they actually WOULD get up sort of shocked us, so here we are….chugging cups of coffee in preparation of an all-nighter to watch and report on the nuptials of The Royal Couple 2.0.

Starting at 2 a.m. Pacific Time tomorrow, April 29, (good God!) which is right about when the painfully slow, drawn-out microcommentary on the procession to the church will likely start (the ceremony starts at 3 a.m. our time), we will be there as your virtual viewing buddies, commenting on the carriages, the guards, the hats, the receding hairlines and, of course, what we are all waiting to see: the dress.

All I have to say is after editing bridal magazines for nearly 14 years and witnessing the vast number of spectacularly fabulous wedding gown options there are out there, I will be one majorly disappointed editor if Kate busts out even one shoulder of Princess Diana’s poof (LOVED Di, hated the dress, even back in the 80s).

We’re going to start watching ABC KOMO (channel 4) but I will definitely be channel sufring. If you are game and want to join our tea party, “Like” us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter

Joining us is Liz Hummer, Oregon Bride editor (Facebook and Twitter) and Kelley Moore who with all her energy is hosting a private high tea party at The Fairmont Hotel, starting at midnight.

I just realized….Kelley and I might possibly be the only two of our group who were actually alive for the REAL royal wedding back in 1981…yikes.

See you in the middle of the night!
