An unobtrusive strip mall in Bellevue would seem the last place to enter a Zen state, but soothing stress is the new EN SALON’S forte. Owned by the low-profile wife of a certain Japanese Seattle Mariners star, En (13112 NE 20th St., Suite 500, Bellevue 425.883.1010 en-salon.com) specializes in Japanese spa services, including blissful scalp, neck and shoulder massage with fragrant Shigeta Japanese oil ($50); scalp-cleansing massage treatments ($40–$65); and a signature reflexology pressure-point foot massage ($45). En, which means “to create harmony and flow” in Japanese, is a serene space peppered with local art and posh chandeliers. The salon also offers classic Western nail treatments (manicures, $35–$45; pedicures, $45–$55), plus nail designs such as intricate cherry blossoms and Japanese characters (prices start in the $60–$80 range, depending on intricacy of the design; moment of bliss during hand massage, no charge).
