If Seattle parents were asked to describe the most impossibly perfect springtime activity for their children, they might use some of these words: outside, safe, active, fun, affordable. Well, throw in “educational” and Spokespeople, a local organization with a knack for urban bicycling and sustainability, has got just the thing. On March 24th, beginning at 1pm in front of Wallingford Center, they will lead kids and families on a free three-mile bike ride through the neighborhood, making stops at Little Free Libraries along the way, and ending at the Wallingford Public Library for its “Sundays are Special” celebration (read: refreshments). The route is kid-friendly (i.e. minimally hilly), so—no excuses—those book bags should come home heavy.
