!–paging_filter–pa href=”http://www.ballardkayak.com/” target=”_blank”Ballard Kayaks/a, the company that offers kayak rentals and tours, has hoisted its big blue tent on the south end of the beach at Golden Gardens just in time to help you quench your recreation and Vitamin D needs. Outdoorsy types: Stop by BK’s beach outpost to rent a kayak ($25 per hour) and head out for an independent exploration of the Puget Sound waters. Less experienced kayakers can sign up for guided tours (starting at $35 per hour) that troll throughout various destinations around the Sound. On our to-do list? The Fusion Tour, a clever combo of land and sea excursions, called the Paddle, Peddle and Pour. It starts with a kayak trip up through the Ballard Locks and ends with you riding along on a 16-seat, pedal-powered, beer-infused “bike saloon.”/p
pWe’re told that all boats are doubles so bring a friend; there are even some with “cockpits” in between the two paddlers that are ideal spots for your kiddies or furry co-pilots./p
